Tried & True Danish Oil is a superior product designed for faster absorption and curing compared to typical natural oil finishes. This makes it an excellent primer for other T&T finishes, particularly on highly absorbent wood.
Danish Oil is versatile and can be used in a variety of ways beyond traditional wood finishing techniques. It can mix with custom stains, serve as a primer and grain enhancer before epoxy or oil-based film finishes, and is suitable for other applications that benefit from pure linseed oil.
This linseed oil for wood is commonly used by woodworking professionals. It can be applied to bare wood or over an already-stained piece, making it a versatile choice for both beginners and experts.
Danish Oil is ideal for rustic pieces, cabinets, butcher blocks, and priming open-pored woods. It is 100% safe for food contact, but we recommend using the Original Wood Finish as a top coat for moisture resistance on food-related items.
To apply Danish Oil, sand your piece to the desired level and apply a very thin coat using a lint-free cloth at room temperature. Allow it to penetrate for just 5 minutes, then buff dry. For adequate curing, wait at least 8 hours before burnishing with 4/0 steel wool. Repeat as necessary.
